Wal-Mart Costa Rica designs and implements the fundraising campaign, called ‘Dulce Ayuda’, to promote awareness in their customers about the importance of contributing to the Explor@ project. Microsoft Costa Rica has contributed to the development of the Explor@ program by donating consulting books to support two of the courses offered: Digital Productivity and Technical Leaders. A group of 216 organizations from private and public institutions, NGOs, local governments, and schools interested in youth welfare also activily participate in the program implementation. For the development of the courses, these organizations provide their technological platform (a computer laboratory with at least four computers and Internet connection), one or more facilitators/teachers with knowledge in technology and experience working with youth in non-formal or extracurricular environments which received training from the Omar Dengo Foundation, and commit to free registration for children and youth at social risk who take part in the program.
The project team coordinates the execution of these six courses with an extensive group of non-profit organizations, local governments, educational centers and public institutions in the country. Explor@ provides training for the facilitators and didactic materials for students.
