For Civil Society: Partnerships for Education
Multi-Stakeholder Partnerships for Education (MSPEs) bring together civil society, governments, the private sector and other organisations to pool and manage resources and competencies that contribute to the expansion and enhanced quality of education. They differ from PPPs (Public-Private Partnerships) in their involvement of civil society and their explicit focus on a broader coalition of partners and stakeholders than merely the public (governments) and the private (companies) sectors.
Civil Society has a key part to play in delivering effective MSPEs, through its role in:
- Engaging local communities in delivering appropriate and sustainable educational solutions
- Garnering public support for delivering enhanced quality and quantity of education
- Working closely with learners at a range of levels to help ensure that their needs are effectively delivered
- Monitoring and evaluation of educational initiatives so that lessons are learned about their optimal delivery
- Active engagement in policy formulation with international agencies
Partnerships for Education is committed to making appropriate resources available to assist civil society in its implementation of effective and sustainable MSPEs in support of the Education for All goals. The following documents are currently available:
