For Governments: Partnerships for Education
Multi-Stakeholder Partnerships for Education (MSPEs) bring together governments, the private sector, civil society and other organizations to pool and manage resources and competencies that contribute to the expansion and enhanced quality of education. They differ from PPPs (Public-Private Partnerships) in their explicit focus on a broader coalition of partners and stakeholders than merely the public (governments) and the private (companies) sectors.
Governments have a key role to play in delivering effective MSPEs, through their responsibilities for:
- Developing and implementing effective educational strategies
- Providing funding for the implementation of education systems
- Maintaining oversight of the curriculum and assessment procedures
- Ensuring that effective educational standards are achieved
- Creating an effective regulatory environment through which partners can contribute to enhanced educational delivery
