On 9 March 2010, the UN Global Compact Office and UNIFEM will co-host a historic event in honour of International Women's Day to launch the Women's Empowerment Principles: Equality Means Business.
The Principles are the product of a collaboration between UNIFEM and the UN Global Compact, informed by an international multi-stakeholder consultation conducted since March 2009. The Principles provide a set of considerations to help business focus on key elements integral to advancing gender equality.
